SHILOH: THE WESTERN CAMPAIGN OF 1862

Edward Cunningham; editors Timothy Smith, Gary Joiner

Savas Beatie

Edward Cunningham is a consummate storyteller in this dissertation written under the tutelage of T. Harry Williams at Louisiana State University. The action comes alive and the personalities of the characters shine through a book that reads more like a novel than an academic work. Historian Dr. Timothy Smith is a former employee of the Shiloh National Military Park and author of a book on Shiloh. He and Dr. Joiner have edited and annotated the manuscript, which is complemented by numerous maps and analysis.
